What is remarkable about Symphony #1?
The first version was my diploma work (master degree in composition) at the Kharkiv Institute of Arts, USSR, 1988. Class of Valentin Bibik. It contained elements of synchronous music - the compositional technique developed in my later works.
Symphony #1 was premiered at the graduation in 1988 by the Kharkiv Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2010, 22 years later, I recomposed my First Symphony. It's still for two conductors and large symphony orchestra.
